2 Chronicles 24
- 1 約阿施卽位時、年七歲、在耶路撒冷爲王、歷四十年、其母名西比亞、別是巴人也、
- 2 祭司耶何耶大存日、約阿施行耶和華所悅、
- 3 耶何耶大爲之娶后妃二、誕生子女、
- 4 厥後、約阿施有意重修耶和華室、
- 5 乃召祭司及利未人、謂之曰、其往猶大諸邑、由以色列衆徵金、歲修爾上帝之室、當速成此事、而利未人延緩、
- 6 王召祭司長耶何耶大、謂之曰、曷不使利未人、由猶大及耶路撒冷、循耶和華僕摩西與以色列會衆所定、徵其稅金、爲法幕所用、
- 7 蓋惡婦亞他利雅之子、曾毀上帝室、以耶和華室中區別爲聖之物、奉於巴力、
- 8 於是王命造匱、置於耶和華室門外、
- 9 在猶大及耶路撒冷宣告、命納稅金、奉於耶和華、卽上帝僕摩西在曠野、所命以色列人者、
- 10 牧伯民衆、欣然攜金投匱、迨衆畢納、
- 11 利未人舁匱至王之有司、見金甚多、王之繕寫、與祭司長之屬吏、至而傾之、復置其所、日日如是、積金甚繁、
- 12 王與耶何耶大、以金予在耶和華室供役之人、俾雇瓦工木工、鐵工銅工、重修耶和華室、
- 13 諸工操作、逐漸修葺、使上帝室復其舊式、而鞏固之、
- 14 厥功告成、攜餘金至王與耶何耶大、以製耶和華室之器、供事獻祭所用、又作匙與金銀諸器、耶何耶大存日、國民恆獻燔祭於耶和華室、
- 15 耶何耶大壽高年邁而卒、時、百有三十歲、
- 16 葬於大衞城、在列王之中、因其行善於以色列人、奉事上帝、修其室也、
- 17 耶何耶大卒後、猶大牧伯詣王拜之、王從其言、
- 18 遂棄其列祖之上帝耶和華室、奉事亞舍拉及偶像、緣此罪戾、震怒及於猶大與耶路撒冷、
- 19 然耶和華仍遣先知導之歸己、先知戒之、而彼不聽、
- 20 上帝之神感祭司耶何耶大子撒迦利亞、乃立於上、告民曰、上帝云、爾何干耶和華之命、致不亨通、爾旣棄耶和華、彼亦棄爾、
- 21 民遂同謀、循王所命、以石擊斃之、於耶和華室院、
- 22 如是、約阿施王不憶其父耶何耶大相待之恩、而殺其子、臨死則曰、願耶和華鑒而究之、○
- 23 歲暮、亞蘭軍來攻約阿施、至猶大與耶路撒冷、殺民中諸牧伯、以所掠之貨財、送至大馬色王、
- 24 亞蘭來軍雖少、耶和華因民衆棄其列祖之上帝耶和華、付大軍於敵手、以懲約阿施、
- 25 會其疾甚、亞蘭人舍之而去、彼之臣僕同謀、爲其流祭司耶何耶大子之血、弒之於牀、葬於大衞城、惟不在列王之墓、
- 26 同謀者、乃亞捫婦示米押子撒拔、摩押婦示米利子約薩拔、
- 27 約阿施諸子之事、與約阿施所受之警戒、及重修上帝室之事、俱載於列王紀傳、子亞瑪謝嗣位、
