约伯记 40
- 1 耶和华又对约伯说：
- 2 “挑剔是非的，怎能与全能者争辩呢？责备 神的，回答这个问题吧。”
- 3 于是约伯回答耶和华说：
- 4 “我是微小的，可以回答你什么呢？我只好用手掩口。
- 5 这说了一次，不再回答；说了二次就不再说。”
- 6 于是耶和华从旋风中回答约伯说：
- 7 “你要如勇士束腰，我要问你，你要告诉我。
- 8 你怎能废弃我所审断的？怎能定我为有罪，好显出你自己为义呢？
- 9 你有 神那样的膀臂吗？你能用他那样的声音打雷吗？
- 10 你当以庄严与尊贵为装饰，以尊荣与威严为衣服。
- 11 要倒尽你忿激的怒气，观看所有骄傲的人，使他们降卑。
- 12 观看所有骄傲的人，把他制伏，把恶人践踏在他们的地方，
- 13 把他们一起掩藏在尘土里，把他们本人捆绑在隐密处。
- 14 这样，我就要向你承认，你的右手能拯救你。
- 15 你看看河马吧，我造它像造你一样，它吃草如牛一般。
- 16 你看，它的力量在腰间，它的能力在肚腹的肌肉上，
- 17 它挺直尾巴硬如香柏树，它大腿的筋纠结在一起，
- 18 它的骨头仿佛铜管，它的骨干好像铁棍。
- 19 它在 神所造的事工中居首，只有创造它的能使刀剑临到它身上。
- 20 群山为它生出食物，田野的百兽都在那里玩耍。
- 21 它躺在莲叶之下，躺在芦苇丛中与泥泽之间；
- 22 莲叶的阴影遮蔽它，溪旁的白杨树环绕它。
- 23 江河泛滥，它毫不慌张，约旦河的水涨到它的口边，它还是安然。
- 24 它警觉的时候谁能捉拿它？谁能用铁圈穿它的鼻子呢？”
