Ψαλμοί 39
- 1 «Εις τον πρώτον μουσικόν, τον Ιεδουθούν. Ψαλμός του Δαβίδ.» Είπα, Θέλω προσέχει εις τας οδούς μου, διά να μη αμαρτάνω διά της γλώσσης μου· θέλω φυλάττει το στόμα μου με χαλινόν, ενώ είναι ο ασεβής έμπροσθέν μου.
- 2 Εστάθην άφωνος και σιωπηλός· εσιώπησα και από του να λέγω καλόν· και ο πόνος μου ανεταράχθη.
- 3 Εθερμάνθη η καρδία μου εντός μου· ενώ εμελέτων, εξήφθη εν εμοί πύρ· ελάλησα διά της γλώσσης μου και είπα,
- 4 Κάμε γνωστόν εις εμέ, Κύριε, το τέλος μου και τον αριθμόν των ημερών μου, τις είναι, διά να γνωρίσω πόσον έτι θέλω ζήσει.
- 5 Ιδού, μέτρον σπιθαμής κατέστησας τας ημέρας μου, και ο καιρός της ζωής μου είναι ως ουδέν έμπροσθέν σου· επ' αληθείας πας άνθρωπος, καίτοι στερεός, είναι όλως ματαιότης. Διάψαλμα.
- 6 Βεβαίως ο άνθρωπος περιπατεί εν φαντασία· βεβαίως εις μάτην ταράττεται· θησαυρίζει, και δεν εξεύρει τις θέλει συνάξει αυτά.
- 7 Και τώρα, Κύριε, τι περιμένω; η ελπίς μου είναι επί σε.
- 8 Από πασών των ανομιών μου λύτρωσόν με· μη με κάμης όνειδος του άφρονος.
- 9 Έγεινα άφωνος· δεν ήνοιξα το στόμα μου, επειδή συ έκαμες τούτο.
- 10 Απομάκρυνον απ' εμού την πληγήν σου· από της πάλης της χειρός σου εγώ απέκαμον.
- 11 Όταν δι' ελέγχων παιδεύης άνθρωπον διά ανομίαν, Κατατρώγεις ως σκώληξ την ώραιότητα αυτού· τω όντι ματαιότης πας άνθρωπος. Διάψαλμα.
- 12 Εισάκουσον, Κύριε, της προσευχής μου και δος ακρόασιν εις την κραυγήν μου· μη παρασιωπήσης εις τα δάκρυά μου. Διότι πάροικος είμαι παρά σοι και παρεπίδημος, καθώς πάντες οι πατέρες μου.
- 13 Παύσαι απ' εμού, διά να αναλάβω δύναμιν, πριν αποδημήσω και δεν υπάρχω πλέον.

This translation started in 1831 and was published in 1850 by the Orthodox Archimandrite and professor of the National University of Athens, Neophytos Vamvas with the help of other researchers. Considering that the Greek Orthodox Church wouldn't support him, he collaborated with the British and Foreign Bible Society to publish this translation.
The text is written in "kathareuousa", a form of greek that is not spoken today in Greece. It is closer to spoken greek though, than the Septuagint (also known "translation of the seventy").- Encoding: UTF-8
