傳道書 12
- 1 你趁著年幼、 衰敗的 日子 尚 未 來到，就是 你所說，我 毫無 喜樂 的 那些年日 未曾臨近之先，當記念 造你的主。
- 2 不要 等到 日頭、光明、月亮、星宿 變為黑暗，雨 後 雲彩 反回，
- 3 看守 房屋 的發顫，有力的 屈身，推磨的 稀少 就止息，從窗戶 往外看 的都昏暗；
- 4 街 門 關閉，推磨 的響聲 微小，雀鳥 一叫，人就起來，唱歌 的女子 也都 衰微。
- 5 人怕 高處，路上 有驚慌，杏樹 開花，蚱蜢 成為重擔，人所願 的也都廢掉；因為 人 歸 他永遠的 家，弔喪的 在街上 往來。
- 6 銀 鍊 折斷，金 罐 破裂，瓶子 在 泉 旁損壞，水輪 在 井口 破爛，
- 7 塵土 仍歸 於 地， 靈 仍歸 於 賜 靈的 神。
- 8 傳道者 說：「虛空 的虛空，凡事 都是虛空。」
- 9 再者，傳道者 因有 智慧，仍 將知識 教訓 眾人；又默想，又考查，又陳說 許多 箴言。
- 10 傳道者 專心 尋求 可喜悅 的言語，是憑正直 寫 的誠實 話。
- 11 智慧人 的言語 好像刺棍；會中 之師 的言語又像釘穩 的釘子，都是一個 牧者 所賜的。
- 12 我兒，還有 一層，你當受勸戒：著 書 多，沒有 窮盡；讀書 多，身體 疲倦。
- 13 這些事 都 已聽見了，總意就是：敬畏 神，謹守 他的誡命， 這是 人所當盡的本分（或譯：這是眾人的本分）。
- 14 因為 人所做的事， 連一切 隱藏的事，無論是 善 是 惡， 神 都必 審問。
