提摩太前書 3
- 1 “如果有人渴慕監督的職分，他就是愛慕善工。”這話是可信的。
- 2 所以作監督的，必須無可指摘，只作一個妻子的丈夫，有節制，自律，莊重，樂意接待客旅，善於教導，
- 3 不好酒，不打人，只要溫和，與人無爭，不貪財，
- 4 好好管理自己的家，使兒女凡事敬重順服。
- 5 （人若不知道怎樣管理自己的家，怎能照料 神的教會呢？）
- 6 初信主的不可作監督，恐怕他驕傲，就落在魔鬼所受的刑罰裡。
- 7 作監督的也必須在教外有好聲譽，免得他被人毀謗，就落在魔鬼的陷阱裡。
- 8 照樣，執事也必須莊重，不一口兩舌，不酗酒，不貪不義之財，
- 9 用清潔的良心持守信仰的奧祕。
- 10 他們也必須先受考驗，若沒有可責之處，然後才讓他們作執事。
- 11 照樣，他們的妻子（“他們的妻子”可解作“女執事”）也要莊重，不說讒言，有節制，凡事忠心。
- 12 執事只可以作一個妻子的丈夫，善於管理兒女和自己的家。
- 13 那善於作執事的，就為自己得了好的位分，也因著相信基督耶穌得到大大的膽量。
- 14 我把這些事寫給你，希望不久可以到你那裡去；
- 15 假如我來遲了，你也可以知道在 神的家裡應該怎樣行。這家就是永活 神的教會、真理的柱石和根基。
- 16 敬虔的奧祕真偉大啊，這是眾人所公認的，就是：“他在肉身顯現，在聖靈裡稱義，被天使看見；被傳於列國，被世人信服，被接到榮耀裡。”
