- 1 亞哈隨魯爲王、統轄百有二十七州、自印度至古實、
- 2 其時都於書珊、在宮坐於王位、
- 3 三年、宴諸牧伯、臣僕、各州之顯者、及方伯、卽波斯瑪代之權貴、咸在其前、
- 4 王於多日、以其榮國之富有、及其威嚴之炫赫示之、凡歷十有八旬、
- 5 此日旣過、又宴書珊宮中之人、自尊逮卑、歷有七日、在宮之院、
- 6 以白綠藍三色之布爲帷、繫以紫枲之繩、綴以銀環、在於白石之柱、內有金銀之牀、設於紅石白石、黃石黑石、所鋪之地、
- 7 金巵賜酒、巵式不一、御酒孔多、示王厚貺、
- 8 飲酒有令、勿得強人、蓋王曾命宮中百工、使人各隨所欲、
- 9 王后瓦實提、亦在亞哈隨魯王宮、爲諸婦設宴、
- 10 屆七日、王飲酒而樂、諭御前宦豎七人、米戶幔、比斯他、哈波拿、比革他、亞拔他、西達、甲迦、
- 11 請王后瓦實提戴后冕至王前、使庶民諸伯得見其美、蓋后有殊色也、
- 12 惟后不遵宦豎所傳王命而至、王怒甚、中心如焚、
- 13 王之左右、波斯瑪代七伯、時覲王顏、居國之首位、卽甲示拿、示達、押瑪他、他施斯、米力、瑪西拿、米母干、俱達時務、皆哲士也、凡王有事、例當詢諸明法律者、故問之曰、

- 17 蓋后之所爲、必傳於諸婦、言王召后、而后不至、致諸婦亦蔑視其夫、
- 18 今而後、波斯瑪代衆命婦、聞后所爲、必效其尤、言於王之牧伯、遂生藐視、憤怒靡已、
- 19 如王以爲善、則降諭旨、載於波斯瑪代之律、永遠不廢、不容瓦實提進御、以其后位、賜較彼尤善者、
- 20 王疆宇甚廣、王詔布告通國、則婦必敬其夫、無論尊卑、
- 21 王與諸伯、咸悅米母干之言、王遂依此而行、
- 22 頒詔王之諸州、各依其文字方言、曰夫必於其家爲主、亦依其方言而言焉、
