- 1 推羅王希蘭素愛大衞、聞所羅門受膏、繼父爲王、則遣臣僕見之、
- 2 所羅門亦遣人見希蘭曰、
- 3 昔我父大衞、因四方戰鬬、待耶和華服諸敵於其足下、不能爲其上帝耶和華之名建室、爾所知也、
- 4 今我上帝耶和華、錫我四周綏安、無敵無殃、
- 5 我決志爲我上帝耶和華之名建室、應耶和華諭我父大衞之言曰、我將使爾子繼爾踐位、彼必爲我名建室、
- 6 請爾命人、爲我斫香柏於利巴嫩、我僕與爾僕偕、爾言其值、我必予之、蓋爾知西頓人能斫木、我中無人如之、
- 7 希蘭聞所羅門言、欣喜不勝、曰、今當頌美耶和華、賜大衞智慧之子、治此大國、
- 8 遂遣人告所羅門曰、爾所言者、我已聞之、論及香柏松木、我必如爾所欲而爲、
- 9 我僕必自利巴嫩、運至海濱、編之爲桴、浮海至爾所定之地、在彼解之、爾可受焉、以食物供我宮廷、則盈我願、
- 10 希蘭以香柏松木予所羅門、如其所欲、
- 11 所羅門以麥二萬歌珥、清油二十歌珥、供希蘭之宮廷、每歲如此、
- 12 希蘭與所羅門和好、彼此立約、耶和華循其所許、以智慧賜所羅門、○
- 13 所羅門王在以色列中、徵人爲役、共計三萬、
- 14 每月遞更、遣人一萬至利巴嫩、居利巴嫩一月、居家二月、亞多尼蘭督之、
- 15 所羅門又有七萬人負荷、八萬人在山鑿石、
- 16 此外有督工者、三千三百人、以督操作之衆、
- 17 王命人鑿大而且貴之石、以立室基、
- 18 所羅門與希蘭之匠、曁迦巴勒人琢之、備具木石、以建殿宇、
