Sirach 31
- 1 Бдение богатства растлевает плоти, и попечение его отгонит сон:
- 2 печаль бдения отторгает дремание, и недуг лют отимает сон.
- 3 Трудится богатый в собирании богатства и в покои насыщается сладостей своих:
- 4 трудится убогий во умалении жития, и в покои скудный бывает.
- 5 Любяй злато не оправдится, и гоняй растление сим насытится.
- 6 Мнози падоша злата ради, и бысть пагуба их прямо лицу их.
- 7 Древо претыкания есть всем жрущым ему, и всяк безумлив ят будет им.
- 8 Блажен богатый, иже обретеся без порока и иже вслед злата не иде.
- 9 Кто есть сей? И ублажим его, сотвори бо дивная в людех своих.
- 10 Кто искушен им и совершен бысть? И будет на похваление.
- 11 Кто могл преступити, и не преступи, и зло сотворити, и не сотвори?
- 12 Утвердятся благая его, и милостыни его исповесть собрание.
- 13 Сел ли еси при трапезе велицей, не разверзи на ней гортани твоего
- 14 и не рцы: много на ней есть. Помяни, яко зло есть око лукаво.
- 15 Лукавнее ока что есть создано? Сего ради о коей либо вещи слезит.
- 16 Идеже аще узриши, не простирай руки и не гнетися с ним в солило.
- 17 Разсуждай, яже суть искренняго, от тебе самаго, и о всяцей вещи размышляй.
- 18 Яждь яко человек предлежащее ти и не пресыщайся, да не возненавиден будеши.
- 19 Престани первый ради наказания и не пресыщайся, да не преткнешися:
- 20 и аще сядеши посреде многих, первее их не простри руки твоея.
- 21 Коль доволно человеку наказанному малое, и на одре своем не постраждет зла.
- 22 Сон здравый от чрева умеренна: воста заутра, и душа его с ним:
- 23 труд бдения и холера и чревоболение с мужем ненасытным.
- 24 И аще отяготился еси брашны, востани от трапезы и почиеши.
- 25 Послушай мене, чадо, и не уничижи мене, и на последок обрящеши словеса моя.
- 26 Во всех делех твоих буди тщателен, и всяк недуг не имать приступити к тебе.
- 27 Щедраго хлебами благословят устне, и послушество доброты его верно.
- 28 На скупаго в хлебех поропщет град, и послушество злобы его известно.
- 29 В вине не мужайся, многих бо погуби вино.
- 30 Пещь искушает железо в калении, тако вино сердца гордых во пиянстве.
- 31 Полезно вино животу человечу, аще пиеши е в меру его.
- 32 Кий живот побеждаемому вином? Сие бо на веселие человеком создано есть.
- 33 Радование сердца и веселие души вино пиемо во время прилично:
- 34 горесть души вино пиемо много в распри и клевете:
- 35 умножает пиянство ярость безумнаго на претыкание, умаляя крепость и сотворяя струпия.
- 36 В пире вина не обличай искренняго и не уничижи его в веселии его:
- 37 словесе поносна не рцы ему и не оскорби его во истязании.
