1 Samuel 29
- 1 さてペリシテびとは、その軍勢をことごとくアペクに集めた。イスラエルびとはエズレルにある泉のかたわらに陣を取った。
- 2 ペリシテびとの君たちは、あるいは百人、あるいは千人を率いて進み、ダビデとその従者たちはアキシと共に、しんがりになって進んだ。
- 3 その時、ペリシテびとの君たちは言った、「これらのヘブルびとはここで何をしているのか」。アキシはペリシテびとたちに言った、「これはイスラエルの王サウルのしもべダビデではないか。彼はこの日ごろ、この年ごろ、わたしと共にいたが、逃げ落ちてきた日からきょうまで、わたしは彼にあやまちがあったのを見たことがない」。
- 4 しかしペリシテびとの君たちは彼に向かって怒った。そしてペリシテびとの君たちは彼に言った、「この人を帰らせて、あなたが彼を置いたもとの所へ行かせなさい。われわれと一緒に彼を戦いに下らせてはならない。戦いの時、彼がわれわれの敵となるかも知れないからである。この者は何をもってその主君とやわらぐことができようか。ここにいる人々の首をもってするほかはあるまい。
- 5 これは、かつて人々が踊りのうちに歌いかわして、『サウルは千を撃ち殺し、ダビデは万を撃ち殺した』と言った、あのダビデではないか」。
- 6 そこでアキシはダビデを呼んで言った、「主は生きておられる。あなたは正しい人である。あなたがわたしと一緒に戦いに出入りすることをわたしは良いと思っている。それはあなたがわたしの所にきた日からこの日まで、わたしは、あなたに悪い事があったのを見たことがないからである。しかしペリシテびとの君たちはあなたを良く言わない。
- 7 それゆえ今安らかに帰って行きなさい。彼らが悪いと思うことはしないがよかろう」。
- 8 ダビデはアキシに言った、「しかしわたしが何をしたというのですか。わたしがあなたに仕えはじめた日からこの日までに、あなたはしもべの身に何を見られたので、わたしは行って、わたしの主君である王の敵と戦うことができないのですか」。
- 9 アキシはダビデに答えた、「わたしは見て、あなたが神の使のようにりっぱな人であることを知っている。しかし、ペリシテびとの君たちは、『われわれと一緒に彼を戦いに上らせてはならない』と言っている。
- 10 それで、あなたは、一緒にきたあなたの主君のしもべたちと共に朝早く起きなさい。そして朝早く起き、夜が明けてから去りなさい」。
- 11 こうしてダビデとその従者たちとは共にペリシテびとの地へ帰ろうと、朝早く起きて出立したが、ペリシテびとはエズレルへ上って行った。
