撒母耳記上 12
- 1 撒母耳 對 以色列 眾人 說：「 你們向我 所 求的，我已應 允了，為你們 立了 一個王；
- 2 現在 有這王 在你們前面 行。我 已年老 髮白，我的兒子 都在你們這裡。我 從幼年 直到 今 日 都在你們前面 行。
- 3 我在這裡，你們要在耶和華 和 他的受膏者 面前 給我 作見證。我奪過 誰 的牛，搶過 誰 的驢，欺負過 誰，虐待過 誰，從誰 手裡 受過 賄賂 因而 眼 瞎呢？若有，我必償還。」
- 4 眾人說：「你未 曾欺負我們， 虐待我們，也未 曾從誰 手裡 受過 甚麼。」
- 5 撒母耳對他們 說：「 你們 在我手裡 沒有 找著 甚麼，有耶和華 和 他的受膏者 今 日 為證。」他們說：「願他為證。」
- 6 撒母耳 對 百姓 說：「從前 立 摩西、 亞倫，又 領 你們列祖 出埃及 地 的是耶和華。
- 7 現在 你們要站住，等我在耶和華 面前 對你們 講論 耶和華 向你們 和 你們列祖 所 行 一切 公義的事。
- 8 從前 雅各 到了 埃及，後來你們列祖 呼求 耶和華，耶和華 就差遣 摩西、 亞倫 領 你們列祖 出埃及，使他們在這 地方 居住。
- 9 他們卻忘記 耶和華─他們的 神，他就把他們 付與 夏瑣 將軍 西西拉 的手裡，和 非利士人 並摩押 王 的手裡。於是這些人常來攻擊 他們。
- 10 他們就呼求 耶和華 說：『 我們離棄 耶和華，事奉 巴力 和 亞斯她錄，是有罪了。現在 求你救我們 脫離仇敵 的手，我們必事奉你。』
- 11 耶和華 就差遣耶路．巴力、 比但、 耶弗他、 撒母耳 救 你們 脫離四圍 仇敵 的手，你們才安然 居住。
- 12 你們見 亞捫 人 的王 拿轄 來 攻擊你們，就對我 說：『 我們定要 一個王 治理 我們。』其實耶和華─你們的 神 是你們的王。
- 13 現在，你們所 求 所 選 的王 在這裡。看哪，耶和華 已經為你們 立 王了。
- 14 你們若 敬畏 耶和華，事奉 他，聽從 他的話，不 違背 他 的命令， 你們 和 治理 你們 的 王 也都順從 耶和華─你們的 神 就好了。
- 15 倘若 不 聽從 耶和華 的話，違背 他 的命令，耶和華 的手 必 攻擊你們，像從前攻擊你們列祖一樣。
- 16 現在 你們要站住，看 耶和華 在你們眼前要 行 一件 大 事。
- 17 這不是 割 麥子 的時候嗎？我求告 耶和華，他必 打雷 降雨，使你們又知道 又看出， 你們 求 立王 的事 是在耶和華 面前 犯 大 罪了。」
- 18 於是撒母耳 求告 耶和華，耶和華 就在這 日 打雷 降雨，眾 民 便甚 懼怕 耶和華 和 撒母耳。
- 19 眾 民 對 撒母耳 說：「求你為 僕人們 禱告 耶和華─你的 神，免得 我們死亡；因為 我們 求 立王的事正是 罪 上 加 罪了。」
- 20 撒母耳 對 百姓 說：「不要 懼怕！你們 雖然行了 這 惡，卻 不要 偏離 耶和華，只要盡 心 事奉 他。
- 21 若 偏離耶和華去 順從 那 不能 救 人的虛 神是 無 益的。
- 22 耶和華 既 喜悅 選 你們 作他的 子民， 就必 因 他的大 名 不 撇棄 你們。
- 23 至於 我，斷 不停止 為你們 禱告，以致得罪 耶和華。我必以善 道正 路 指教 你們。
- 24 只要 你們敬畏 耶和華，誠誠實實地 盡 心 事奉 他， 想念 他向你們 所行的事 何等大。
- 25 你們若 仍然 作惡， 你們 和 你們的王 必一同滅亡。」
