耶利米哀歌 4
- 1 黃金怎麼竟然失去光澤，純金怎麼竟然變色？聖殿的石頭都被拋棄在各街頭上。
- 2 錫安尊貴的眾民，本來和精金一樣貴重；現在怎麼竟被看為瓦器，好像陶匠手中所作的呢？
- 3 野狗尚且用乳房哺養牠們的幼兒；但我的眾民變得多麼殘忍，像曠野的鴕鳥一樣。
- 4 嬰兒的舌頭因乾渴而緊貼上膛；孩童求餅，卻沒有人分給他們。
- 5 那些從前吃美食的，現今都在街上孤單淒涼；那些從前在豪奢生活中長大的，現今卻在垃圾堆中打滾。
- 6 我眾民（“我眾民”原文作“我子民的女子”）的罪孽比所多瑪的罪惡更大；所多瑪在轉眼之間傾覆了，儘管無人攻擊它。
- 7 錫安的貴族素來比雪更明亮，比奶更潔白；他們的身體比紅寶石更紅潤，他們的樣貌像藍寶石一樣美麗。
- 8 現在他們的面貌比煤炭還黑，在街上再沒有人認得他們；他們皮包骨頭，枯瘦如柴。
- 9 那些死於刀下的比餓死的還好；餓死的因缺乏田間的出產，就日漸消瘦而死亡。
- 10 慈心的婦人親手烹煮自己所生的孩子；在我眾民（“我眾民”原文作“我子民的女子”）遭毀滅的時候，孩子竟成了母親的食物。
- 11 耶和華大發震怒，傾倒他的烈怒；他在錫安放火，吞滅了錫安的根基。
- 12 地上的君王，以及世上所有的居民都不相信，會有任何敵人攻進耶路撒冷的城門。
- 13 因為錫安先知的罪惡，和祭司的罪孽，就是他們在城中流了義人的血，
- 14 所以，他們像瞎子在街上流蕩，他們被血玷污，沒有人可以觸摸他們的衣服。
- 15 有人向他們喊叫：“走開！你們不潔的人；走開！走開！不要觸摸我。”他們到處逃亡飄流的時候，列國的人就說：“他們再不能在這裡寄居。”
- 16 耶和華親臨分散他們，不再看顧他們；人不再尊重祭司，也不厚待長老。
- 17 我們徒然等待幫助，等到雙目失去視力；我們在瞭望臺上期望一個不能拯救我們的國家來臨。
- 18 敵人追蹤我們，使我們不敢在自己的街道上行走。我們的結局近了，我們的日子滿了；我們的結局已經到了。
- 19 追趕我們的比空中的鷹還快；他們在山上追趕我們，在曠野埋伏攻擊我們。
- 20 耶和華所膏立的，我們鼻孔的氣息，在他們的陷坑中被捉住；我們論到他曾說：“我們要在他的蔭庇之下，在列國中存活。”
- 21 以東人哪，烏斯地的居民哪，歡喜快樂吧！這杯也要傳到你那裡，你必喝醉以致赤身露體。
- 22 錫安的居民（“居民”原文作“女子”）哪！你的刑罰已經受夠了，耶和華必不再使你流亡；以東的居民哪！他必懲罰你的罪孽，揭露你的罪惡。
