Isaia 20
- 1 În anul când a venit Tartan la Asdod, trimis de Sargon, împăratul Asiriei, să bată Asdodul şi l-a luat,
- 2 în vremea aceea, Domnul a vorbit lui Isaia, fiul lui Amoţ şi i-a zis: „Du-te, dezleagă-ţi sacul de pe coapse şi scoate-ţi încălţămintea din picioare!” El a făcut aşa, a umblat gol şi desculţ.
- 3 Şi Domnul a zis: „După cum robul meu Isaia umblă gol şi desculţ, trei ani de zile, ca semn şi înştiinţare pentru Egipt şi pentru Etiopia,
- 4 tot aşa şi împăratul Asiriei va lua din Egipt şi din Etiopia prinşi de război şi surghiuniţi, tineri şi bătrâni, goi şi desculţi, şi cu spinarea descoperită, spre ruşinea Egiptului.
- 5 Atunci se vor îngrozi şi se vor ruşina cei ce îşi puseseră încrederea în Etiopia şi se făleau cu Egiptul.
- 6 Şi locuitorii de pe ţărmul acesta vor zice în ziua aceea: ‘Iată ce a ajuns încrederea noastră, pe care ne bizuiserăm, ca să fim ajutaţi şi să fim izbăviţi de împăratul Asiriei! Cum vom scăpa acum?’ ”
