We must be able to answer this question, before we can efectifly answer any other question!
2 Peter 1:16-21
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
We are well informed Christians who strongly feel the time has come to contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints. Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
This is exactly what they say today in science! They reject the truth and try to disregard the scriptures.
Therefore those who believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, pray like you've never prayed before! We know that the last days are upon us and major changes are happening in the world even as you read this feeble letter.
We want to trust the Lord God of Israel to once again show His mighty arm. We seek the salvation of many before the coming judgment! Let's plead with the Lord for we know Him to be one of great mercy and kindness, if per adventure we can find grace in His sight to thump down the hordes of Hell one more time before it's all over. As a witness to the world, like in the time of Daniel when that man of God stood before lions so the king could see the one true God.
Having multiple tanslations does not change the authenticity.
Translations of the Bible are made by going back to the original Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic manuscripts. Not by going back to the previous translation.
Over zealous monks would have to find over 6 000 manuscripts, or portions of manuscripts, in the Greek, change all of them, not show their inkwork, not get caught, and get them back were they stole them from.
They would have to learn how to lie, not only in Greek, but also in Syriac, Coptic, and Latin. Find all the Syriac, Coptic, and Latin translations of the Greek manuscripts, change those to match the lies they told in Greek, not show their inkwork, not get caught, and get all those back from were they stole them from.
Now find all the writings of the early church fathers, lie, but remember the lies that they told in Syriac, Coptic, Latin, and Greek; steal those, not show their inkwork, not get caught, and get all those back from were they stole them from.
Oh, and by the way they'll have to live three hundred years to get this done.
We will greatly elaborate in the coming days on the above statement, knowing that it was arrived at when reading 2 Peter 1:16 we can tell it is mighty in the pulling down of strong holds in the minds of men who are deceived.
